As some of the old-timers on the forums might remember, a few years ago I posted my thoughts on what a musical score to the Angels 2200 story might sound like. As a Xmas treat for the fans, and also just for fun, I have recently scoured my vast soundtrack collection to find pieces that I think best match my ideas for the Angels soundtrack. Below is the mix I have created, along with the music sources and a brief description of why the track was used. I have the zipped album for download. 4) For Her Father - Hammer's Theme: A driving and determined piece underscores Hammer's goal of carrying on her father's legacy as a pilot and military hero. Source: SOCOM II Soundtrack
5) Proud Yet Weary - Quetz's Theme: The slow but dignified guitar gives voice to Juanita and the burden placed upon her by a noble family tradition. Source: Metal Gear Series Remix
6) Marine - Loser's Theme: The solid rock of the Icebreakers, Rebecca's theme is a firm, steady march with a touch of the gentleness she showed towards her lover, Whiskey. Source: Backdraft Soundtrack
7) Green Lament - Whiskey's Theme: While she is often jolly and carefree, Whiskey's story is ultimately a tragic one. In this piece, a Celtic-style lament mourns Mary's sense of profound loss. Source: Battlestar Galactica Soundtrack
8 ) Quiet Rage - Bubblegum's Theme: An eerie, mysterious theme with a hollow, solo voice tells of Mitsabi's dark urges. Low undertones summon her into the shadows. Source: Tenchi-Muyo Soundtrack
9) Prank War - The Duel: A fast, intense piece follows the Icebreaker and Corona squadrons as they duel for victory in the Prank War. The music builds to a final crescendo as Quetz has her fateful collision with the Outcast. Source: Unearthed Album
10) In the Shadow of the Plague: A lonely boy's voice sounds, weeping for the loss of the males in the Genetic Plague. Drums rumble in the distance as a reminder that the Galactic Civil War continues on even as the people grieve. The music ends with hope and defiance as the women who remain strive to move forward with their lives. Source: Medal of Honor Soundtrack
11) Rebel Attack - The First Battle: Ill-equipped but fanatical rebels attack the Outcast and the Icebreakers are given their first taste of real combat. Source: Transformers Soundtrack
12) Exploring the Arroway: Creepy, ambient music follows the Icebreakers as they explore the derelict vessel. Source: Zork Nemesis Soundtrack
13) Self-Destruct Activated: Heavy percussion ticks down the seconds as the Icebreakers flee the Arroway and come under attack by ambushing rebels. Source: Resident Evil 2 Soundtrack
14) Love Unspoken - Kid and Hammer: Piano and strings play a mournful duet as Kid believes Hammer to be dead, and Hammer regrets not speaking out about her growing love for Kid. Source: Brotherhood: The Lost Loved Ones Soundtrack
15) Always Watching - OSI Theme: Low, mechanized voices provide the foundation to this dark choral piece that reflects the cyborg-infested and secretive Office of Special Investigations. Source: Transformers Soundtrack
16) The Battle for Risae: Tribal drums and ancient Mediterranean instruments are featured in the story's finale as the Outcast fights against the arrogant and cunning rebel commander. Source: Battlestar Galactica Soundtrack
17) Heroic Cannon Fodder: An uplifting and bittersweet piece ends the album by hearkening back to what the Icebreakers were intended to be, and what they eventually became. Source: The Island Soundtrack
