Wow...lotta substance in this latest comic, and in color too! Rawkin'.

I don't think we've ever seen Quetz open up like this; kinna makes one a trifle uncomfortable...Quetz says it herself right in the first panel: "This feels weird."

I think it's weird hearing Loser described as their rock. I never really thought of her that way; of all the Icebreakers, I kinna feel like I knew her the least. (An' I'm still not 100% convinced she's dead, but that's for another time, I suppose.)

Excellent update; can't wait for more.

But it is not like similar things never happened. Quetz and Kid hace had serious conversations before.

I s'pose it's a matter of degree; Quetz seems to be lowering her guard and letting stuff out rather more than before.

It's not that strange, Loser was Hammer's right hand woman. Essentially the XO of the squad, the XO is always the rock upon which a squad rests. The CO you can hate, but the XO is there to try and smooth things over.

Quetz was too much of a glory hound, Whiskey too much of a loose cannon, Kid was the rookie, while Bubblegum was too busy playing for the other team (scnr). That just left Hammer and Loser to be the more "professional" minded ones of the squad.

That all sounds good in theory, but it doesn't really match Loser's behavior; she was no Apone to Hammer's Gorman, if you'll forgive the Aliens ref. (Thankfully, Hammer was no Gorman, either, but you know what I mean, I hope.)
And the rest of the squad didn't really treat her like an XO, either; they just treated her like another squad member. Hell, she was barely a Hicks (to continue the tortured Aliens analogy a trifle too far). Loser was more like...Frost or Dietrich, maybe Wierzbowski.

Which leaves the question, whose Bishop? or Ripley?

Seriously though, I wonder if this is the beginning of something between Kid and Quetz. Or will Quetz 'Pinch Hit' for Kid with Whiskey?

Well, Bishop is clearly Lance.

Ripley...? Pronto, I think.



I d'know...it's a weird situation. I mean...who is straight? Who is gay? Who is bi? Who is just making do without the preferred option available? The sexual politics of Angels2200 have never been explicitly explained, just alluded to.

Lance is definitly Bishop. Who is the little girl?

A young Ripley, maybe, but we're making analogies to Aliens, here, and for Ripley we need somebody damaged and experienced

Yeah, but those are Marines. Marines are very different creatures from everybody else in uniform.

Bubblegum = Jazz and Dallas mix.
Hammer = Angel and Knight mix.
Whiskey = Maniac (up to a point, she's a whole lot less obnoxious really) and Maestro mix.
Loser = Vagabond and Paladin (the easy to confide to bit) mix.
Kid = Catscratch.

Pronto is a mix between Iceman, Bossman and Hawk.
