Not necessarily. Maybe they've been periodically raiding sperm banks, at periodic intervals having some volunteer take a frozen pop between the legs, see what results and if its viable... I don't know, just speculating.
Weigh that against extinction due to no new offspring...

I've been following this story for a long time, and was a member of the forums before the Big Boom thang a while back. I say this because I really enjoy this comic. There is only one issue I have with it.
The artist(s) are REALLY good and drawing girls REALLY nice. But when men are drawn they tend to be a mite "femmy" in style. Oh sure, this dude they are fighting now has neat muscles and such, but his face looks very girly. I think that is because they are just USED to drawing girls with this story and it is hard to get into the "guy groove".
The reason I bring this up is...that the final panel of this comic is PERFECT. He looks like a guy that realizes he just fracked up. Bravo people. Bravo.

I think that was supposed to be the irony. Captain Bill Gates (the character's actual name escapes me at the moment) is this wimpy, nerdy, dweeb, but because he's figuratively "the last man on earth," he has all the power.
I agree with RG, Lance and Whiskey's father never looked that girly, except when Lance was dressed up like Loser

...which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, actually. Maybe I know different women than you do, but most gals I know--myself included--wouldn't give that guy power...we'd tie him down, take his sperm by force, and repopulate humanity quite against his will.
Power? I wouldn't give him power.

I think I have seen that movie, but I can't remember the name of it.
Also a Sliders episode. First season.

I was really surprised by this, and I'm really happy about it. I was hoping she'd come back, and had given up expecting it.
But, now that the asteroid-ship is gone, and so is she, what happens next with Hammer?
